What are rail lifelines?2024-02-09T16:21:59+03:00

Rigid horizontal lifeline systems are the safest solution for working environments where the fall must be stopped at a very short distance, roofs with high slopes, walkways, surfaces with low strength.

XTR Safety XRAIL rail type lifeline system is fixed at 150 cm intervals. In particular, the overhead rigid lifeline system is preferred for work areas where wire rope systems cannot be installed due to strength reasons, as it distributes the load along the rail over multiple anchor points.

No deflection after a possible fall keeps the safe fall distance to a minimum. In addition, the damage that will occur on the system after the fall is lower and limited compared to wire rope systems.

What standards are rail lifelines subject to?2024-02-09T16:25:02+03:00

Rail-type horizontal lifelines are designed and certified according to EN 795: 2012 Type D and TS 16415 :2013 and rail-type vertical lifelines are designed and certified according to EN 353-1:2014+A1:2017 norms.

What are the advantages and disadvantages of rail lifelines?2024-02-09T16:27:55+03:00

Rail-type lifelines provide much more comfortable operation than wire rope systems. Wire rope lifelines should be fixed to high-strength surfaces. The strength value of the relevant surface can be determined according to the instructions of the lifeline manufacturer, rail type lifelines can be an alternative in cases where the determined strength value cannot be found on the surface to be mounted. Rail lifelines require less surface strength as they spread the load over more points.

What material are rail systems made of?2024-02-09T16:30:27+03:00

XTR Safety XRAIL lifelines consist of aluminum rails and stainless steel components.
